As a Database Engineer my responsibilities include information systems design, implementation, and maintenance in an effort to improve the efficiency and accountability across a district of over 34000 students and 5000 employees.
My many and varied projects required me to learn PHP, MySQL, ASP.NET, MS-SQL, Oracle, SSIS, Java, XML, HTML, and others in the implementation of several information systems that the District uses on a daily basis. These projects also required coordination between several departments at the district as well as management of schedules and resources.
Ø Design, creation, documentation, maintenance and performance tuning of 23 database servers ranging from 2000 to 2008r2 including a 2008r2 Database Cluster with 22 separate databases in a VMware infrastructure.
Ø Installation, maintenance and performance tuning of Oracle 11g database server on Windows 2008r2
Ø Synchronization of data between 8 disparate databases using SQL server and SSIS
Ø Migration of Database synchronization from UMRA to SSIS on SQL Server 2005
Ø Design, creation, documentation and maintenance of 5 application interfaces including Data Quality System and Teacher Evaluation system.
Ø Migration of Java data collection and ftp process to SSIS in SQL Server 2008
Ø Varied levels of involvement in several data migration projects including migrations from SQL 2000 to 2005, 2005 to 2008, and 2008 to 2008r2
Ø Design and creation of Multiple SSIS processes collecting, compiling, and redistributing data from multiple disparate data sources to flat data files for consumption in longitudinal data warehouse.

As a Technology Manger my responsibilities included:
Ø Support of 630 Team members in 4 locations with 5 direct reports.
Ø Server support of 8 Novell Netware 6.0 clustered servers.
Ø Consultation support of Solaris based Imaging system and Unix Davox Auto dialer system.
Ø Management of projects involving 3 network infrastructure upgrades.
Ø Managed conversion form First Security systems to Wells Fargo systems for Auto Finance Group
o Coordinated physical rollout of 630 workstations including logistics, manpower, and technical issues spanning 4 locations in 2 states.
o Co-created interim desktop image combining First Security operational requirements with Wells Fargo operational requirements (Enabled seamless transition of business operations).
o Assisted in creation of NDS Tree including Zenworks application creation and distribution. (Enabling dynamic delivery of desktop applications)
o Managed migration of First Security data to Wells Fargo Systems.
o Created archival systems to comply with long-term legal requirements.
Ø Modified Dealer Draft system (Visual Basic 4.0) data import routines and data migration to support new feed topology, enabling dynamic data import. Software support of various 16 and 32 bit in house applications.

In my spare time I enjoy volunteering with the Bogus Basin Ski Patrol.
Since joining the patrol in 2007, I have volunteered for many events, achieved my OEC Instructor Certification, served 2 years on the board of directors, created and manage the Bogus Basin Ski Patrol web site (www.bbsp.org), and created and manage the Southern Idaho Region site (www.nsp-sir.org) for the National Ski Patrol.
